Dr. Akins is a recording artist, performer and professor based in Nashville, TN. Stricken with adversity many years ago, he began to experience the healing power of music and turned to composing and performing spiritual music. He became a member of Christ Unity in Chattanooga, TN, which gave him the encouragement and support to write and perform his new spiritual music. Since, he has released two CDs and now regularly travels to New Thought churches and other venues everywhere to share it. His music is also heard all over the world through radio and film.

His new CD release, Masterpeace (2007), is a collection of acoustic piano solos comparable to music from artists such as Jim Brickman, George Winston and David Lanz. Recorded on a remarkable grand piano, reviewers are describing it as peaceful, soothing and beautiful.
